Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire a Phlebotomy Instructor [part-time faculty] positions. PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position is expected to provide high quality instruction to phlebotomy students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical setting, in accordance with college and department mission, vision and values, part-time faculty bargaining agreement, federal and state regulations, and college accreditation standards. This is in-person instruction and clinical support for students in the classroom and skills lab.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • The Phlebotomy Program is located at the CCC Harmony Campus. Candidates must be available for in person skills labs on Wednesdays and Fridays along with remote online instruction.
  • Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings, nights and/or weekends.
  • Faculty must maintain required licensure/certification.
Instructional range: $70.20 - $84.07
Non-Instructional range: $42.03

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities of the Part-Time Faculty include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensure students develop requisite entry-level knowledge, skills, and competencies to sit for certification or licensure and work in the field utilizing current techniques and equipment:
    • Employ strong classroom management skills, including independent judgement, subject matter expertise, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of teaching theory and methodologies;
    • Theory of instruction of phlebotomy and laboratory clinical skills
    • Advise, assist, and tutor students, and connect them with available resources to support their learning;
    • Effectively communicate with faculty, staff, students, and community partners;
    • Program and student learning outcomes assessment;
  • Support the program's values of inclusivity, collaboration, peer support, self-care, and student-centered instruction and support by attending department meetings, training and engaging in professional development.
Support the college's mission, vision, and values, through participation in and advancement of institutional initiatives.

Qualifications



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's degree;
  • (3) years professional experience as a phlebotomist in outpatient or inpatient medical setting;
  • Current phlebotomy credential includes: PCT (NHA); RPT (AMT); or PBT-ASCP




PREFERED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five years professional experience as a phlebotomist in outpatient and inpatient medical setting
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish preferred)
  • Familiarity with or past instructional experience at a community college

Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, monitor, projector, calculator, printer, and standard office equipment.

  • Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED:


  • Works under the general direction of the Department Chair and/or Dean.
