Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm

FLSA status: Exempt

Salary: $55,000 annually

A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.

Purpose of Position

Responsible for deigning, developing, and maintaining software solutions and systems to meet an organization's business requirements.

Essential Functions

Consults with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers, and end users to gather information about program requirements, functions, and features.

Documents program specifications based on consultations with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers, and end users.

Converts designs and specifications into application code; develops and executes code and corrects errors detected in the development process.

Consults with client to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to make sure program meets requirements and specifications.

Writes and maintains documentation of changes to application code, programs, and specifications; modifies and maintains software applications written by others.

Coordinates with clients on timelines, testing, documentation, support, and implementations.

Revises applications for corrections, enhancements, or system environment changes.

Working knowledge of data management, data modeling, experience with SQL, and general reporting methodologies.

Provides regular and ad-hoc reports for department stakeholders highlighting key metrics and insights.

Communicates with management and team members to provide updates on key requests and/or issues.

Monitors the IT Helpdesk and provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with applications.

Trains end uses or technical support staff to use and/or support applications.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree from a four (4) year college or university within area of assigned responsibility

and

Experience: Two (2) years of related experience in the following areas: programming language such as PHP, database management systems such as Microsoft SQL or MySQL; web development frameworks and technologies such as HTML, CSS, XML, Javascript, JQuery, Bootstrap, and Content Management Systems; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Knowledge of data analysis software/tools such as PowerBI or R is a plus, but not required.

Knowledge of Python programming is a plus, but not required.
