  • Position Number: 4703603
  • Location: El Paso, TX
  • Position Type: Deans - Business

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) seeks a collaborative, forward-looking leader to serve as the next dean of the Woody L. Hunt College of Business.

The dean will join at a momentous time for the college, having received the largest gift in UTEP's history from the Woody and Gayle Hunt Family Foundation in December 2022. The donation will fund initiatives that will position the college as the leader in education and research on trade and commerce between the United States and Mexico. With over 3,000 undergraduates and 320 graduate students, the college is one of the larger colleges on the UTEP campus. The college currently employs 39 full-time staff and has 65 full-time faculty, organized into three departments: accounting and information systems; economics and finance; and marketing, management, and supply chain.

The next dean must have a record of administrative responsibilities and accomplishments, qualifications for appointment as a tenured full professor at the Woody L. Hunt College of Business, and a terminal degree from an AACSB-accredited institution.

The University of Texas at El Paso is America's leading Hispanic-serving university. Located at the westernmost tip of Texas, where three states and two countries converge along the Rio Grande, UTEP is a public research university that transforms lives. Ninety-four percent of UTEP's nearly 25,000 students are minorities, and many are the first in their families to attend college. At UTEP, students have access to 171 bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs in eight colleges and schools. UTEP is the only open-access, top-tier research university in America, yet its retention rates exceed those of selective institutions. The goals of the university are outlined in its current strategy: American's Leading Hispanic-Serving University: 2030 Strategic Plan.
