POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Athletics and Fitness Programs is responsible for providing leadership and administration for the Department of Athletics and the Fitness Center. The Director is accountable for implementation of and compliance with NJCAA and other related league/conference and institutional guidelines for the College's intercollegiate athletics program. Other principle responsibilities include oversight of the Fitness Center and Gymnasium, departmental budget and purchase requisition, recreational and fitness programs, staff/coach supervision, and campus relations as they relate to athletics and fitness programs. The Director of Athletics and the Fitness Programs reports to the Associate Vice President of Student Services.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's Degree
• A minimum of three years experience in athletic administration
• Proficiency in NJCAA or related league/conference compliance standards
• Proven demonstrated experience and ability in management, staff/coach supervision, budget management, and working with a diverse faculty, staff and student population
• Demonstrated excellence in oral, written and interpersonal communications
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required
• Demonstrated skills in use of office management technology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Athletic team coaching experience.
Salary Range: $70,000.00-$75,000.00
