This is a full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year position. Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. This position is grant funded through June 30, 2021, and continuation is dependent on continued grant funding beyond this date.
Madison College offers a generous benefit program including health and dental benefits. The employee selected will serve a twelve (12) month introductory period. This position does not offer a relocation package. This posting may be used to fill similar vacancies that occur within six months of the closing date.

ORGANIZATIONAL FUNCTION AND RELATIONSHIPS:
The Student Support Coordinator works as part of a team of staff that provides instructional support and services to GED/HSED, Adult Basic Education, and basic skills students enrolled in the School of Academic Advancement. You will serve as a coordinator and provide communication, enrollment, registration, testing, and data entry support for the School of Academic Advancement. You will also help provide coordination and support for all students completing their GED/HSED through Madison College and will help coordinate the GED/HSED graduation ceremony. Travel to instructional sites is required, as GED/HSED instruction is offered across our entire district.
The position reports to the Associate Dean.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as the main point of contact for School of Academic Advancement High School Completion programs.
- Assists with orientation, registration, and testing of GED/HSED students.
- Provides support to faculty and student support advisors who work with GED/HSED students.
- Provides organization and coordination of the annual GED/HSED graduation ceremony.
- Assists with compiling GED/HSED graduation paperwork and referring students to services to help them transition to post-secondary education.
- Assists with record keeping and data-entry for all GED/HSED students.
- Administers TABE exams using standardized testing procedures.
- Provides training and guidance to student workers, casual workers, and to support staff across the district who work with GED/HSED students across the district.
- Maintains a commitment to the college mission, vision and values. Complies with college policies, directives, and work rules. Engages positively with colleagues, engages in conflict directly and professionally, contributes to team discussions, collaborates and helps colleagues, assumes the best from colleagues, provides and accepts constructive feedback, follows through on commitments, and support final decisions that are made.
- Other duties as defined by department, college, or officials.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITES:
- Skill in communicating effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to details and logistics. Skills in the use of computers and software packages; including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software
- Ability to work as part of a large team and work towards common goals.
- Ability to work independently and use sound independent judgment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Associate degree from an accredited institution in a field related to human services, sociology, psychology, education or other related field.
2. Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of related professional work experience in an education setting or other work experience required to successfully perform this position.
