Job Description
Truckee Meadows Community College is recruiting for a Food Service Cook 2 for the Campus Cafeteria. This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. This position will takes orders from customers and prepare food to order; prepare and supervise the preparation of meals; prepare hot or cold serving tables, ensuring correct temperatures; refill and replace food bins and containers. The Food Service Cook 2 must meet production and catering schedules, perform perpetual daily/weekly/monthly inventory; ensures proper rotation of all food supply inventories; prepares and submits orders for commodity foods and supplies. This position will assist with general clean-up of kitchen, service and dining areas. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of experience which involved preparation and serving of food according to standardized menus in a military, institutional, correctional, healthcare, hospitality, or other large quantity food service facility; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR one year of experience as a Food Service Cook/Supervisor I in Nevada State service.
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
Schedule
Anticipated to work 30 - 40 hours per week but shift and hours may vary depending on the busyness of the cafe.
Cafe is open from 7am - 7pm.
