Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the Nephrology trainees and residents with case reports, literature reviews as well as QI protocols. This position will work with the PIs & Co PIs to develop studies that evaluate the effectiveness of existing and new therapies on patient outcomes. This position will also assist fellows and faculty with data reduction and manuscript preparation in related to diabetic and hypertensive nephropathy, Kidney Transplant outcomes within the Nephrology Division at AU.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assists the Nephrology Trainees and Residents rotating through the division with design and development of feasible projects (case reports, literature reviews, QI protocols) that can be completed within the 2 years of Fellow's Training.
  • Work with PIs and Co-PIs in General and Transplant Nephrology to develop studies that evaluate the effectiveness of existing and new therapies on patient outcomes.
  • Assist Fellows and Faculty / PIs with data reduction and manuscript preparation for existing projects related to diabetic and hypertensive nephropathy, Kidney Transplant outcomes within the Nephrology Division at AU.
  • Work with investigators in collaborating institutions (University of Florida, Jacksonville) to identify potential new marker(s) of ON and HTN nephropathy
  • To assist with the development of education material supporting Core ACGME educational goals in area of infection management in CKD, ESRD and transplant medicine
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.


    Required Qualifications
    Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research. ORBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience. CITI Training Certificate on Good Clinical Practice and Human Subject Protection (FDA regulated research).

    Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases


    Shift/Salary/Benefits
    Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

    Pay Grade: R14
    Salary: Minimum $36,197/annually - $40,000/annually
    Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
