Manhattanville College is an independent, coeducational, liberal arts college located about 30 miles north of New York City on a picturesque campus of 100 acres. Manhattanville is seeking a Director for the Center for Inclusion to assist in cultivating an inclusive and welcoming campus community. The Director creates and delivers educational trainings, workshops, and or programs, and manages three inclusion initiatives: international student services, the Manhattanville Achievement Program (MAP) and the Manhattanville First Generation Program. The position reports to the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide vision and leadership to the range of programs and initiatives aimed at supporting the retention and success of underrepresented students. These include Manhattanville First Generation Program, the Manhattanville Achievement Program (MAP) and International Student Services
  • Engage in long-range planning, program development, and trainings designed to address the needs of the College's diverse student body;
  • Collaborate with the Center for Teaching and Learning to conceptualize, plan, and coordinates educational initiatives and trainings for faculty and staff;
  • Hire, train, and supervise a team of professional and student staff;
  • Lead in the recruitment and retention of students participating in the Manhattanville First Generation and the Manhattanville Achievement Programs;
  • Coordinate pre-entry programs summer programs for international students, first generation students, and those in the Manhattanville Advancement Program (MAP);
  • Establish and/or revise Manhattanville policies and procedures as needed with regard to international students to reflect changes in immigration laws;
  • Manage area budget and establish priorities;
  • Evaluate program outcomes and make recommendations for change;
  • Collaborate in identifying and developing grant opportunities;
  • Oversee web and social media presence as a means of communicating
  • Serve on campus-wide and divisional committees including those committed to retention, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion;
  • Participate in college wide events such as orientation and open houses;
  • Keep abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in diversity and inclusion, to inform policy and program development work;
  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:
  • Master's degree Higher Education or relevant field;
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in diversity education or intercultural affairs;
  • Previous experience in grant writing and/ or working with TRIO programs;
  • Knowledge and awareness of current and emerging trends in identity development, social justice, and assessment;
  • Ability to work some evening and weekends.

    Salary:$75,000/year
