Description
The Economics Department seeks to fill the Edmond D. Villani Chair in Economics. The holder of the Villani Chair is expected to provide leadership for and have a transformational impact on the department in terms of research, teaching, and service. Hiring will be either at the rank of Full Professor or the rank of Associate Professor. We welcome candidates from any fields. Duties include teaching and research in Economics, advising students, and providing service to the department and university.
Qualifications
The holder of the Villani Chair is expected to possess the following qualifications:

National and International Eminence: A distinguished reputation in their field, both nationally and internationally. -
Outstanding Research Output: A well-established record of outstanding research achievements, showcasing the creation of high-quality, impactful research. -
Forward-Looking Research Agenda: An articulated research agenda demonstrating a commitment to ongoing innovation and scholarly contributions. -
Curricular Innovation: A proven ability to influence and enrich the department's curricular offerings, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, through innovative and relevant coursework and its delivery. -
Dedication to Advising and Mentoring: A demonstrated commitment to mentoring and advising graduate students, with an emphasis on fostering the success of individuals from diverse backgrounds. -
Exemplary Service Record: An established record of service to previous institutions and the broader professional community.

The projected base salary range is $304,233.30-450,000.00. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
