Job Summary
The Renee Crown Wellness Institute is seeking a dedicated Professional Research Assistant to support the facilitation of the m.b.v. GLU program for middle school and high school students. This individual will play a key role supporting the efforts of m.b.v. GLU research studies and program implementation, as well as coordination and facilitation of m.b.v. GLU sessions across various school districts and community organizations in the Boulder Valley School District, and Denver Metro areas. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the wellness of Black girls and femmes, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Who We Are
The m.b.v. GLU program is designed for young Black girls and femmes to acquire skills and knowledge about systemic oppression at the intersection of Black and Femme in the context of appearance biases. This program aims to teach skills that will increase self-woth and self-acceptance, and promote agency in addressing sociocultural pressures around appearance ideals and biases through a variety of experiences including:
- Teachings of the systemic origins of appearance discrimination and subsequent mistreatment of Black girls and women
- guided discussion around themes of body, mind, and voice
- identifying and challenging appearance biases (verbal, written, and behavioral exercises)
- practicing somatic awareness (meditation, mindfulness, and self-compassion)
- building community (self-guided projects to shift the cultural narrative around body, mind, and voice)
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Work with investigators and study team to identify and complete administrative study activities, such as scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, and purchasing necessary study materials.
- Facilitation of the m.b.v. GLU program in Boulder Valley School District and across the Denver Metro Area.
- Contribute to research planning and study development, demonstrating a strong working knowledge of current research methods and relevant literature.
- Support efforts to work within and manage the research and administrative policies and procedures for the University including but not limited to Institutional Review Board protocols, compliance reporting, and maintaining appropriate certifications.
- Interact with current and/or potential research participants for required research activities, such as participant recruitments, consents, screening, data collection, study participation and exit interviews via (including but not limited to REDCap management).
- Support Project Manager to ensure the integrity of data collection and management systems by managing aspects of the programming, design, and management of online data collection platforms
- Work with investigators and project manager to conduct ongoing real-time audits and monitoring of data quality to ensure research integrity of study measurement procedures and data collection.
- Provide support for qualitative and quantitative data analyses, including managing raw data files and preparing datasets for analysis (e.g., data entry/transcription, coding, data quality checks, data cleaning, data merging, reshaping, ID linking, documenting final cleaned datasets).
- Work with investigators to contribute to the analysis and interpretation of study data as well as the preparation of study reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
- Train, supervise, and work with undergraduate student assistants or new study personnel
- Collaborate with m.b.v. project manager to support creation and management of project goals, timeline, and deliverables.
- Collaboratively engage in iterative curriculum revision process for m.b.v. program GLU as well as other programs within the m.b.v. ecosystem.
- Participate in Institute-wide activities such as updating Institute databases, communicating study-specific information back to Institute teams and leadership, attending Institute meetings and workshops, working with Institute teams such as Communications to update website or outreach coordinator for event planning and contributing to the culture and values of the Institute.
- Manage social media for m.b.v. GLU.
What You Should Know
- Hybrid position: You will be required to work in the office at least 2 days per week.
- Transportation or means to travel between the Denver and Boulder areas for facilitation.
- Flexibility with work hours, with ability to work some nights and weekends.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree in a social science, preferably psychology or a related field.
- Demonstrated strong working knowledge of the lived experiences of Black girls and women and misogynoir.
- At least two years of relevant research experience or a combination of relevant research and administrative experience, including working with human subjects.
- Fluency in oral and written English.
